ABOUT LISA STRETTON
Modern Traditionalist
Creating tranquil modern paintings that soothe the soul.
Lisa Stretton knows what chaos feels like. A mother to three school-age sons, this Westport, CT artist is constantly juggling. Her great escape? The beach – a place where peace and tranquility reign and inspiration abounds.
Raised in New Jersey, Lisa spent her summers at the Jersey Shore, relishing the feeling of sand between her toes and the sound of water lapping the beach. From the moment Lisa first held a paintbrush, she spent every free minute experimenting with different mediums. From oil to acrylics and glass beads to mica flakes, Lisa has since mastered an art that brings her pure joy.
Her love for painting spills onto every canvas. Whether she’s creating an abstract, coastal or mixed medium, Lisa’s creations demonstrate her sense of calm and serenity. Each piece evokes a clear escape from the turbulent chaos of modern society. Her mediums include acrylic, oil and mixed media, including textures. Her themes take a modern twist on traditional concepts. They include, abstract, coastal, water, bead, ocean, modern floral, contemporary abstract and tranquility.
Lisa has shown her paintings at Art About Town Westport in 2015 and 2016 and has received a Best of Houzz 2017 Service Award. You can find her pieces on display at Westport River Gallery and other local businesses in Connecticut. She has also created works for numerous clients throughout Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and New York.
Today, you’ll find Lisa walking along Westport’s Compo Beach with her husband and sons, ready for another inspired idea to pop onto her next canvas.
